Half Term Editing

Hi everyone,
I hope you're enjoying your break and are ready to complete editing and filming. Some of you are going to re - film your continuity sequences so make sure you bring cameras and tripods back please.
I will be in school from 9.00 am tomorrow (WED) morning. I have arranged for a heater but just in case, make sure you wear warm clothing.
It might be worth bringing lunch if you intend staying for the day. I intend leaving at 3.00 so take advantage of the morning - very little ever gets achieved after lunch!

Check List
  • Lunch / snacks/ drinks
  • Warm clothes
  • Camera
  • Tripod
All films and continuity exercises must be uploaded onto your blogs by the first week back.

TV Drama Homework/Blogs

This is the last call for homework. If I do not receive it before half term, it will not be graded.
Too many of you have not produced the minimum to receive a pass for your research and planning. The final deadline is Thursday 11th Feb.

Comments on Blogs

There are still some blogs I cannot comment on - Beccy, Nathan to name but two. If I haven't posted a comment on your blog in the last week it's because I can't. You need to see me to sort it out.

Thanks

JS

TV Drama Homework

I would like all essays in by next week please.

Choose an episode of a TV drama of your choice. Write a review and evaluate how the text attempts to create realism for an audience.
You should begin by briefly outlining the plot and then examine the techniques chosen by the film-maker (director) to create a sense of the real world.
Therefore you need to look at representation through mise en scene, camera work, editing and sound.

There are plenty of web sites out there for you to look at but please make sure that the work is entirely you own.

Hand it in on paper please. Do not post it onto your blog.

Final Stages of Research and Planning - Year 12

Not many of you have added anything since I last visited your blogs , one or two have done plenty. Can I suggest that you take a look at Justine's research and planning. She has clearly followed the instructions in the booklet and has produced some original and well written pieces of research -= despite her absences !

Some Advice Year 12

Please make sure that you organise your blogs so that it easy to navigate. Label everything clearly. There should be a very clear RESEARCH and PLANNING heading and then sub-headings within that : research into similar film openings, ideas for film , narrative, storyboard etc.

Some of you haven't done this. Others are doing well but clearly haven't posted anything for a while.

Make sure you keep a record of what people are saying about your film so you have some evidence of audience research. You could record and post these into your evaluations later.

If you want some idea of a finished blog and how it should look, look at Richard Tanner's in Year 13.

Keep checking the Departmental Blog for up dates.
